Hi. My name is Mark, and I love traveling and long-distance running. As it turned out, these hobbies perfectly combine and complement each other. Running while traveling and traveling while running are much more interesting than doing both separately.
For me, one of the best ways to explore and experience a new place is to run there, preferably early in the morning. So far, I’ve run in 23x countries in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Hopefully, the list will expand.
The run&travel format helps you see the city where you live in a new way, too. Once I found myself one early morning in the park, I discovered a new city – without the hustle and bustle, without cars and people, quiet and beautiful. Since then, I keep exploring new places and routes, watching the seasons and admiring the city in different weather conditions.
But running is not just about moving through space. Just as fascinating are the journeys to explore my body’s capabilities with immersion in the world of running training and competition. To date, I have ten marathon medals in my collection, including four from the majors, the Berlin, Boston, Chicago and New York marathons.
